H.S.S Aloor , managed by the sisters of Holy Family Congregation which was founded by Blessed Mariam Thressia. blessed Mariam Thressia is popularity kwonn in the universal church as ‘The Apostle of Families’ . she was born in an ancient Syrian Catholic family of Chiramel Mankidiyan in puthenchira village on 26 April 1876. On 26th November of mount carmel . But soon she realised thAt her vocation is not to the carmelte order. after two months she returned to Puthenchira on 14 May 1914, Bishop John Menachery of Thrissur proclaimed officially the establishment of the new order of nuns called The congregation of holy family (CHF)in Puthenchira Mariam Thressia the foundress was also appointed as the superior of the new Order. Venerable Joseph vithayathil was the spiritual guide of BI.mariam Thressia and reared the twelve year old congregation after the death of Blessed Mariam Thressia at her early age. He was declared as the co-founders of the congregation.

Thressia’s divine call was to humanise the society and work for the betterment of the society. Mariam thressia was a wounded healer who absorbed the sufferings of others.

Thressia offered her life publically in service of the sick and the destitute. Mariam Thressia knew from her home apostolate was not only fashionable, but became a necessity by 1920s. So.BI. Mariam Thressia started convents, school for girl’s higher education & boarding houses attached to the schools.

Attracted by the authentic personal and spiritual depth of BI. mariam thressia of puthenchira many girls embraced the congregation. Today more than two thousand nuns are there in the congregation and has thus extended their services to North india as well as four other continents of the world.
